Transport Minister conducts progress in-loco inspection of road infrastructure construction and upgrade in the Eastern Cape
Transport Department’s agency, the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (Sanral) is hard at work in the Eastern Cape, upgrading the national route R336 between Kirwood and Addo in order to improve the condition of the road. Construction work carried out on the road comprises the upgrading of 13,75 km of National Route R336. The upgrading also includes safety features such as speed limits, pedestrian sidewalks and traffic controls. Furthermore, the Sundays River Bridge will be widened to accommodate new pedestrian walkway.
The Minister of Transport Mr Fikile Mbalula will visit the construction site to inspect progress and interact with workers on site. The Minister will be given an update on progress being made regarding the construction of the road and planned timeliness for completion.
