Minister Fikile Mbalula conducts oversight visit of Johannesburg to Naledi Corridor, 15 Dec

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), has reached yet another critical milestone with the completion of the rebuilding of the Naledi to Johannesburg Corridor. The recovery of the Naledi corridor is a major achievement for the organization given the strategic role played by Metrorail in connecting peripheral communities to economic hubs and opportunities.

The Minister of Transport, Mr Fikile Mbalula will on Thursday join PRASA’s management for the oversight visit of the Johannesburg to Naledi Corridor and outline progress made thus far in rebuilding and recovering the passenger rail network.

Transport Minister, PRASA’s management and key stakeholders will take a train ride from Naledi to Park Station where the Minister Mbalula will also get to interact with commuters on the train.

Date: Thursday, 15 December 2022
Call Time: 05:30 for the buses transporting media from Umjantshi House to Naledi Station
Departure time for train: 07:15 (for train departure from Naledi Station to Park Station)

NOTE: For parking convenience, media should park their vehicles at PRASA’s Umjantshi House, take Buses from Umjantshi House to Naledi Station. Call time for this is at 05:30 for 06:00 (departure to Naledi Station). 

The Naledi to JHB Train will depart from Naledi Station at 07:15 sharp, this will be the train that will have the Minister onboard.
