Minister Faith Muthambi embarks on visit to Vuwani, 25 Nov

Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Faith Muthambi will on Saturday 25 November embark on the unannounced visit to government’s frontline service delivery points in Vuwani, Limpopo Province to monitor and also listen to the challenges that communities go through on daily basis.

Minister Muthambi will also hand over the newly established Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre to the Tshivhulana Primary School – near Vuwani Township.

Tshivhulana is one of the deep rural Villages falling under the jurisdiction of the Vhembe District Municipality, where ICT facilities are still scarce in schools. The Minister believes that the centre will help to bridge the digital-divide in the disadvantaged communities of Vuwani area.

The establishment of this fully-fledged ICT centre was made possible through a public–private partnership (PPP) with the Light Fibre Infrastructure, which is a private company.

It has always been Minister Muthambi’s desire to help in ensuring that young children from the rural areas get exposed to modern ICT facilities, in order for them to cope in the modern world.

The partnership with the Light Fibre Infrastructure is indeed ensuring that school children in the remote areas have access to ICT.

It is our responsibility as public representatives to always listen to the people and see how to improve their living conditions.
