Minister Patel to address the SA Investment Conference Business Breakfast
The Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Mr Ebrahim Patel will address the 5th South African Investment Conference (SAIC) Business Breakfast that will take place in Johannesburg next week. Minister Patel will provide an update on the state of readiness for the conference.
The breakfast session will offer an opportunity for the business community, investors and SAIC sponsors to reflect on the successes registered in government’s investment mobilisation thus far, as well as to share ideas on the solutions for the challenges facing the South African economy.
The 5th SAIC conference also marks the end of government’s current investment mobilisation drive launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2018. To date, four cycles of SAIC have raised about R1.14 trillion - bringing the President’s target of R1.2 trillion within sight. The conclusion of this investment cycle will herald the beginning of a new one in which President Ramaphosa has committed government to raise R2 trillion worth of investments over the next five years beginning in 2024.
President Ramaphosa’s Special Economic Advisor, Dr Trudi Makhaya will also address the session. SAIC 2023 sponsors and business analysts will also share inputs on the partnership and the significance of government’s investment drive in the wake of a challenging economic environment.
