Transport Minister and Discovery Childsafe bring scholar transport safety under the spotlight in Cape Town
Scholar transport safety will come under sharp focus in Cape Town on Thursday when Transport Minister, Honourable Dipuo Peters and Discovery Childsafe officially launch the Safe Travel to School programme during which the Minister will give a keynote address.
The Safe Travel to School programme, a joint initiative between Discovery Limited and Childsafe aims to help motorists, drivers and people who have a role to play in the daily transportation of schoolchildren to:
- increase their awareness of road safety,
- improve their driving behaviour and to
- safely bring home school-going children entrusted to their care without mishap each and every day.
Joining the Minister during the launch, will be senior national and provincial government officials, senior executives from Discovery and Childsafe, teachers, learners, scholar transporters, key stakeholders in the transport sector and member of the media.
