Minister of Tourism, Mr Derek Hanekom, will host a Ministerial round table discussion with African Tourism Ministers prior to the official opening of Indaba 2015 in Durban. Themed ‘Africa: Open for Tourism Business’, the session is the second ministerial level policy dialogue that will afford African Ministers and key tourism industry players a platform to discuss and debate the current state of Tourism in Africa, with a view of collectively devising solutions.
Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, will deliver the keynote address, followed by a ministerial panel discussion on the following topics:
- State of Africa's readiness for Tourism investment, and constraints to investment promotion
- The importance of the tourism sector towards building the economies of various regional economic communities
- Collaboration between public and private sector in growing tourism
- Visas and travel facilitation
- Improving intra-African travel
