Minister David Mahlobo visits families of children struck by collapse high light mast, 10 Nov

Minister Mahlobo will on Friday morning visit the homes of the kids whose lives were cut short after the collapse high light mast fell on their fragile bodies in Soshanguve

Minister of Energy, Mr David Mahlobo, is deeply saddened by the fatal incident that claimed the lives of five children in Soshanguve, North of Pretoria, on Saturday, 04 November 2017. The Minister will on Friday morning pay his respects to the five families.

Five children, aged between 6-12 years, were struck by the collapsed high light mast while playing. Four of them died on the scene and other one died at Dr George Mukhari Hospital. It is strongly believed that the cause of the collapse was due to the illegal connections by criminals commonly known as “izinyoka”. Minister urges members of the public to report such crimes and warns izinyoka to refrain from this criminality.

Members of the Media are invited as follows:
Date: 10 November 2017
Venue: Soshanguve Block X
Time: 8h00

Media is requested to join Minister Mahlobo at the Bopape family home at 43 Block X.
