Minister Carlisle to award R25 000 to first safely home road safety reward winner

Tomorrow, Minister of Transport and Public Works Robin Carlisle, will be awarding the first winner of the Safely Home Road Safety Reward campaign with their R25 000 prize.

The campaign was launched on 17th December 2012 and aimed at rewarding motorists for good behaviour on our roads over the festive season. The initiative is part of a behavioural economics technique aimed at establishing a culture of obeying road rules by promoting an identity of responsible road users.

The Western Cape Government is offering a cash opportunity to vehicle owners and drivers who remain fine-free over the festive season. Two cash prizes of R25 000 will be rewarded to qualifying drivers, drawn at random, from motorists with their vehicles registered in the province. All motorists in the province are automatically entered into the draw, and winners will be drawn from those who meet set criteria and ensure that their details on the National Traffic Information System (eNaTiS) are correct and up to date.

Minister Carlisle will also be presiding over a draw that will identify our second winner of the R25 000 reward.
