The Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr. Blade Nzimande, MP, in partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, will on Friday 4 April 2014, launch the Further Education and Training (FET) Graduate Placement Programme.
Graduate placement is a key component towards creating a seamless transition of students between post school institutions and the world of work. Since its establishment in 2009 the Department of Higher education and Training has always considered the creation of partnerships between work places and post school institutions a key component to facilitate workplace learning/training. This is what we call in our slogan “turning every workplace into a training space”.
The programme we are launching in KZN follows the successful launch of similar programmes in Gauteng and Free State. In the KZN, 2655 FET college and university of technology graduates have been placed for work integrated learning and work place based experience required for their qualifications and for work experience.
