Minister Bathabile Dlamini launches State of the World Population Report, 3 Dec

The Minister for Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini, will launch the 2015 State of the World Population Report on 3 December. The Report will be launched as part of the 7th African Population Conference currently taking place at St George Hotel, Irene in Pretoria.

The theme for the Report is: Shelter from Storm – A Transformative Agenda for Women and Girls in a Crisis-Prone World.

More than 100 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance – more than at any time since the end of the Second World War. Among those displaced by conflict or uprooted by disaster are an estimated 26 million women and adolescent girls in their childbearing years.

The State of the World 2015 is a call to action to meet their needs and protect their rights and to reframe humanitarian response.

Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the launch of the report, planned as follows:

Date: Thursday, 3 December 2015
Time: 08h00
Venue: St George’s Hotel, Irene, Pretoria, Gauteng Province
