Minister Bathabile Dlamini interacts with school girls as part of Take a Girl Child to Work campaign, 29 May

School girls to experience government at a high level

As part of the Take a Girl Child to Work campaign, Minister of Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini, has invited twenty one school girls to experience politicians at work in the Minmec meeting she holds quarterly with MECs for Social Development.

Minister Dlamini has spent most of her career promoting women’s rights locally and internationally and continues to work hard to ensure that women are afforded the same rights and opportunities as their male counterparts in society.

Bringing the school girls to experience the workings of government at this high level is aimed at giving them an understanding of how government decisions are taken as well encouraging some of them to take up careers in politics and public administration.

Date: Friday, 29 May 2015
