Minister of Social Development Ms Bathabile Dlamini to conduct Ministerial visit in KwaZulu-Natal

The Minister of Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini will conduct a visit to the province of KwaZulu-Natal, where she will host a community engagement meeting/Imbizo in Inanda (near Durban).

The Imbizo in Inanda will tackle issues of harmony between locals and foreign nationals who reside in the area, child-headed households, poverty, disintegrated families, alcohol and substance abuse, gender-based violence, child neglect, youth development, the abuse and neglect of the elderly, to name a few. The objective of the interaction is to hear from the community how best government can assist them in dealing with these challenges.

The Ministerial visit forms part of the Department’s Project Mikondzo – a service delivery improvement initiative aimed at finding new and speedier ways to meet the social needs of the poorest 1 400 wards in the country as identified by Cabinet.
