Minister Bathabile Dlamini addresses Swedish Seminar, 17 Jun

Minister for Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini, will deliver a keynote address at a seminar organised by the Embassy of Sweden themed "The Nordic Welfare Model as a Transformative Tool".

South Africa and Sweden enjoy deep and broad relations. The next session of the countries’ Bi-National Commission (BNC) will be held in Stockholm in October 2015 at the Deputy President-Deputy Prime Minister level. In preparation for this important bi-annual meeting, the Embassy of Sweden in Pretoria is working on identifying a number of issues for potential future cooperation to be agreed at the BNC.  The seminar forms part of these activities.

The seminar will be framed with a scene setter outlining the critical issues presently addressed by South African Social Development Policy.  Other speakers at the seminar include Professor Mr Joakim Palme from Stockholm University as well as Civil Society representatives.

Members of the media are invited to hear the Minister’s keynote address at the seminar, which will take place as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 17 June 2015
Time: 13h00
Place: Residence of Swedish Ambassador, 297 Canopus Street, Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria.
