Minister Aaron Motsoaledi unveils Youth Health Mobi-Site, 20 Aug

In a concerted effort to promote health and prevent diseases among young people, Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi will on Thursday (August 20) officially launch a new Mobi-Site in Soshanguve, North of Pretoria. The Mobi-Site is aimed at providing health information and easy access to various experts to young people to discuss health related matter at their fingertips. 

The site will connect with their peers and to engage experts on live chats to discuss different health topics. 

The Mobi-Site with the slogan "Health at your fingertips" will afford young people an opportunity to access health information on various topics such as Sexual and Reproductive Health, Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Healthy Lifestyles and other social issues.

To mark the official running of the Mobi-site the Minister will chat live with young people who will be able to register and connect immediately after the launch.  

During the launch, Minister Motsoaledi will announce the winners of the mobi site competition and reveal the name of the mobi site. The Minister of Health will award the winner and runner –ups of the mobi site competition during the event.

The Department will also celebrate One Year Anniversary of Mom-Connect, a cellphone based App that provides information to registered pregnant mothers through SMS according to the term of pregnancy up to a year after delivery. 

To date over 460 000 pregnant mothers registered are receiving Messages. The Department has received about 360 complaints and 2015 compliments.
