The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy will participate at the Youth Summit on the 19 – 20 November 2020 in Kathu, Northern Cape. The Youth Summit is hosted and organized by Dodogroup and John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality
The 2-day summit will be carried out under the theme “new normal, opportunities in mining.” The summit aims to showcase opportunities in the mining and energy sector. It will also address issues pertaining to job creation, unemployment, and skills development amongst the youth, and bridge the gap between local schools, universities, colleges, mine workers, and the global mineral trade in the Municipality. Minister Gwede Mantashe will attend on 20 November 2020, and the Director General Adv. Thabo Mokoena will attend on 19 October 2020.
The summit will be attended by mining stakeholders, Northern Cape Provincial government, Tertiary Institutions, Youth Organizations and Junior Miners.
