Media invitation to the Construction Industry Transformation Summit

Minister Thembelani Thulas Nxesi will host the Construction Industry Transformation Summit on 23 November 2012 at the Protea Hotel OR Tambo in Kempton Park, Johannesburg.

The Construction Industry Transformation Summit in November aims to review the achievements made by the industry including progress since adoption of the Construction Transformation Charter, as well as the impact of various pieces of legislation and Government programmes to achieve the objectives of broad-based economic empowerment. The summit will also review the role and contribution of the private sector to transformation.

It will be attended by policy makers, academics, state owned enterprises, infrastructure departments at national, provincial and local level, and construction bodies representing contractors and built environment professionals.

The summit which will start at 08h00, is organised by the Department of Public Works and its entities: The Construction Industry Development Board, Independent Development Trust (IDT), Council for Built Environment (CBE) and Agrement South Africa
