Media coverage of elections in the RSA – Need for guidelines?

In preparation of the 2014 elections, the Electoral Commission (IEC) will be hosting a workshop to discuss the feasibility of adopting guidelines on the media coverage of elections in South Africa. The workshop follows on the conference on media and elections held by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) in Johannesburg on 26 September 2012.

The purpose of the workshop is to give effect to the Guidelines, compiled at the conference, as it relates to South Africa. You are invited to cover the workshop and discussions. The workshop will take place at Sandton Sun Hotel Conference Venues (SAM room) on Thursday, 13 June 2013.
