Western Cape Human Settlements Minister Bonginkosi Madikizela will deliver an address at the 2 day Human Settlements Summit in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, on 21 March 2013 at 09h50.
The summit is hosted by the Khayelitsha Development Forum, or KDF. in partnership with the National Department of Human Settlements, the Provincial Department of Human Settlements and the City of Cape Town. The summit will be held over two days, from 21 March to 22 March 2013, and will focus on the following five areas:
- Rethinking Khayelitsha 2023 & beyond
- How to address overcrowding, homelessness and lack of basic services
- Unlocking the mortgage bond sector
- Promoting active citizenship
- Linking human settlements to Local Economic Development(LED)
Other speakers will include: The National Deputy Minister of Human Settlements - Ms Zou Kota-Fredericks; Executive Mayco member of the City of Cape Town - Ms T Gqada, and the chairperson of the KDF, Mr Michael Benu.
