Human Settlements Deputy Minister, Zou Kota-Fredericks, will hand-over a house to 74 year old pensioner, Mrs Egnas Dyidi in Nyanga East, Cape Town. This will be in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Women’s Charter and the 1956 Women’s march to the Union Buildings against pass laws.
Mrs Dyidi, who has been bedridden for more than 10 years due to ill health, shares a dilapidated house with her six year old great grandchild, Avethandwa Dyidi. The six year old is being assisted by neighbours to look after the sickly old lady.
