MEC Zoleka Capa to visit and launch various projects in Mbashe

The Hon MEC for Rural Development and Agrarian Reform Zoleka Capa will from Wednesday visit various areas around Mbashe Local Municipality to visit and launch various agriculture projects.

The MEC, accompanied by MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs Mlibo Qoboshiyane as well as mayors from Amathole District and Mbashe Municipalities, will first visit Maxhama village in Idutywa on Wednesday, 22 January.

During the visit to Maxhama, the MEC will launch dip tank and the area has benefitted by having 90ha ploughed as part of the Province’s massive ploughing campaign.

The area has also had their fields fenced; the municipality has donated a tractor and the Department of Social Development is funding a vegetable garden as well as a shearing shed provided by the department.

The following day, January 23 the MEC and her entourage will proceed to Thaleni village in Willovalle where they will join local and provincial religious leaders in thanking the Lord for bringing rains that will see better yield from the fields. They will also visit the 100 ha of maize planted in the area and hand-over a shearing shed to the community.

In that area, as part of broader rural development initiative the municipality has handed out a baking machine to the youth and 2ha of garden has been fenced for community development and food security. The delegation will end their tour at Thafalehashe village in Elliotdale on Friday January 24 where a shearing and a dipping tank will also be handed over.
