At a Western Cape Tourism Plenary tomorrow (Friday, 26 September), Western Cape MEC of Economic Opportunities, Alan Winde, will launch a Cycle Tourism Framework. The Framework is a major step toward the development of a Cycle Tourism Strategy aimed at attracting 100 000 leisure and event cyclists to the province each year.
To mark the occasion, and to promote cycling to work, MEC Winde will be riding to work from his home in Durbanville.
After the Tourism Plenary, he will be joined by fellow cycling enthusiasts on a tour of the city by bike to demonstrate the cycling friendly nature of our CBD.
The media are welcome to attend all of the above events.
