Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Dr Ismail Vadi will on Monday, 9 June 2014, officially open the K14 route between Chris Hani Flats and Cullinan, east of Pretoria.
The R50 million project was aimed at constructing the K14 route, rehabilitating the portion of road P2-5 and the realignment of another portion of the P2-5 between the Chris Hani flats and Cullinan.
During construction, economic enterprise contractors were empowered with a portion of the work, whilst local communities benefitted from work opportunities. Training was also provided to local and other labourers which led to the successful execution of the project within a period of twelve months.
