MEC Vadi to launch the rehabilitation of P186/1 (N12) road

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Dr Ismail Vadi will on Thursday, 21 August 2014 launch the rehabilitation of P186/1 Road located south of Johannesburg, between the N1 and road P3/6 (N12).

The R110 million rand project involve rehabilitation of three interchanges along the cross roads, removal and erection of new road signs, replacement of missing steel grids on grid inlets, clearing of drainage structures as well as reconstruction of gravel shoulders to the correct level.

The project will provide black economic enterprise contractors with a substantial portion of the work and training to local and other labourers.

The 12 months construction project will create employment opportunities for local communities with 40% female workers, 60% youth as well as 2% of people living with disabilities expected to benefit.
