MEC Vadi and Xayiya to launch Go Gauteng transport innovation app

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Dr Ismail Vadi together with MEC for the Department of Economic Development, Eric Xayiya, will on Wednesday, 16 April 2014 officially launch the GoGauteng application at Emoyeni Conference Centre, Johannesburg.

The app will include all modes of transport that can be used in and around Gauteng, serving as an effective planning and direction tool for public transport users. It will also include stations, stops, locations, listings, operational times and announcements.

Mobility, the developers of the GoGauteng mobile application, were the second prize winners in the mobile category of the Gauteng Accelerator Programe (GAP) innovation competition hosted by The Innovation Hub in 2011/12.

The Innovation Hub is Africa's first internationally accredited science and technology park, a subsidiary of the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA), established by the Gauteng Department of Economic Development (GDED.)

More details and demonstration on the application's functionality will be shared at the event.
