MEC Tertuis Simmers launches Maitland Mews Social Housing Project, 11 May

Western Cape MEC of Infrastructure Tertuis Simmers to officiate the launch of the R95.9 million Maitland Mews Social Housing project

On Thursday, 11 May, MEC Tertuis Simmers will be joined by the National Minister of Human Settlements, Mmamoloko Kubayi, and her Deputy Minister, Pam Tshwete, to officiate the launch of the Maitland Mews Social Housing Project.

The development broke ground in November 2021 and has delivered 204 social housing opportunities. It is earmarked to benefit those with a household income of between R1 850 – R22 000 per month.

Speaking ahead of the launch MEC Simmers said: “This project will see beneficiaries relocating closer to the economic hubs of the City. Thus, enabling them to access exceptional transport services and prime accommodation at affordable prices.”

The R95.9 million project will deliver hope into the lives of Western Cape citizens.
