MEC Sikhumbuzo Kholwane delivers 2015/16 Mpumalanga Provincial Adjustment Budget, 20 Nov

The MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Mr Sikhumbuzo Kholwane will on Friday, 20 November 2015 deliver the Provincial Adjustment Budget for the current financial year at Ehlanzeni District Chamber, Mbombela.

The 2015/16 Adjustment Budget is prepared under difficult economic context characterised by sluggish global economic growth and consequent effect on the provincial economy.

Although the Province is doing well in reducing the level of people living below poverty line, unemployment and inequality remain the biggest challenges in our society hence the government is in a process to introduce minimum wage bill which will have a positive impact on inequality.

Despite the socio-economic constraints occasioned by the sluggish economic growth and fiscal constraints, the Provincial Administration under the stewardship of Premier DD Mabuza managed to prioritise significant resources to education, health, integrated human settlement and providing support on the critical matter of provision of clean drinking water in the 2015/16 Budget that was tabled in March this year.

MEC Kholwane is expected to outline measures that are taken to address funding constraint in some of these critical societal challenges.

The speech will be transmitted live on Ligwalagwala FM and Ikwekwezi FM.
