Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe to donation of school uniforms to needy pupils at Sibongindawo Primary School at Ogies in Emalahleni Municipality on Tuesday, 16 July 2013 from 09h00.
The donation of the school uniforms is part of the department’s annual contribution to recognising the former President Nelson Mandela’s work and efforts towards human rights, conflict resolution and reconciliation.
MEC Shongwe will further lead the renovations at Sizanani Old Age Centre and Nthuthuko Disabled Centre in Breyten in Msukaligwa Municipality on Wednesday, 17 July 2013 from 09h00. Blankets will also be donated to the two centres.
The internationally recognised day, July 18 is Madiba’s birthday and the day is dedicated to his work and that of his charitable organisations, as part of ensuring that his legacy lives on. In 2010, the United Nations General Assembly declared July 18 as Nelson Mandela International Day, dedicated to the former President’s commitment to human rights, conflict resolution and reconciliation.
