Minister Carlisle to visit diesel mechanics apprenticeship programme in Bellville
Today, Minister of Transport and Public Works, Robin Carlisle, will be visiting the Bellville Mechanical Workshop where our apprenticeship programme has been training young artisans in essential skills since its revival in 2010. Minister Carlisle will be visiting some of the programmes initial apprentices who have benefitted from the programme and are now looking forward to careers as skilled artisans.
Minister Carlisle will be receiving informal on-site training from these young artisans as well as touring the Workshop where the programme is run from. Some of the apprentices have gone on to pass their qualifying trade tests and are now professionals in the industry.
All media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for interviews and photographs with the Minister as well as some of the participants in the programme. Please indicate if you will be in attendance.
