MEC Robin Carlisle and Mayor Standers to tour George Mobility Project, South Africa's first non-metro Integrated Public Transport Network
MEC of Transport and Public Works, Robin Carlisle, and the Mayor of George Municipality, Alderman Charles Standers, will be conducting a tour of the “Go George”, George Integrated Public Transport Network. Go George will be the first non-metro based integrated public transport service in the country, and will provide more cost-effective and accessible public transport for the greater George community.
MEC Carlisle and Alderman Standers will be touring the existing infrastructure for Go George, which will include upgrades made at Thembalethu for the project.
This is a R110 million project that has been years in the making, and will see a scheduled and safe service that will benefit the thousands that rely on public transport in the area. All media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for interviews and photographs. Please indicate if you will be in attendance.
