MEC Reginah Mhaule visits Lambalati Secondary School in Nkomazi Municipality, 3 Feb

The MEC for Education, Mrs Reginah Mhaule together with the Executive Mayor of Nkomazi Local Municipality Ms Thulisile Khoza will on 3 February 2015 visit Lambalati Secondary School at 13h00.

This visit follows that great performance by Lambalati Secondary School which obtained 91.8% in the 2014 Grade 12 results.

The school had 134 learners who wrote and 123 passed. 45 learners obtained Bachelors requirement and 48 obtained Diploma requirement within the 2014 Grade 12 examination.

Lambalati was established in 1987 and is named after the mother of a chief with a maiden surname “Mbalati”. (hence La-Mbalati as is customary when referring to a traditionally wed woman).

The school is driven by a vision to provide a well-balanced education to produce disciplined and responsible learners through effective teaching and learning, effective management and control in all spheres of school life.

It is committed to working cooperatively with all stake-holders in delivering a relevant curriculum that will produce self–reliant, moral and marketable products.

The motto of the school is: "The sky is the limit". Currently, Lambalati has 1047 learners and 37 educators.

At this occasion, Make Zuka (The lady who collects five cents from communities to buy school uniform for needy learners) will donate twenty sets of full school uniform to deserving learners at this school.

The MEC will use this visit to express her appreciation on the achievement of the Nkomazi Local Municipality for having been declared the Overall Best Municipality following the 2014 Grade 12 results after obtaining 86.0% pass rate.
