MEC Reginah Mhaule’s meeting with all primary schools principals in the province
The MEC for the Mpumalanga Department of Education, Ms Reginah Mhaule will convene a meeting with all Primary School Principals in the Province on 3 February 2014, 9h00 at Pienaar Dam, Middleburg, Steve Tshwete District Municipality.
Primary school principals are responsible for Foundation Phase learning and this is an important phase concentrating on the development and mastering of skills, knowledge, attitudes and values for young children.
The MEC has called the meeting to thank all Primary School Principals for their hard work and to also discuss ways to strengthen and sustain the foundations for learning especially in the teaching of reading, writing and calculating.
‘’A strong foundation assists learners to progress very well throughout the other learning phases in school. The primary schools’ principals together with the Educators play an important role in building a solid foundation for learning by teaching our children basic skills at a very young age’’, said MEC Reginah Mhaule.
The MEC will also use the occasion to donate four school busses to some of the special schools in the province.
