MEC’s meeting with religious leaders
The MEC for Education, Mrs Reginah Mhaule will convene a meeting with religious leaders from various churches on 24 January 2014, Emnotweni Arena, Mbombela at 18H00.
This meeting is in line with a call by Mrs Mhaule to involve all stakeholders towards the enhancement of education delivery in the province. The MEC will also extend her heartfelt appreciation for the contribution made by all religious leaders in improving the Mpumalanga education system during the past year, 2013.
“The province has improved its grade 12 from 70% in 2012 to 77.6% in 2013 and I would like to thank all the pastors for their outstanding contribution and their continued earnest prayers during the 2013 school year. These prayers played a meaningful role towards ensuring that the department managed an incident free examination.
This enormous improvement comes at a time where the department has also received a clean audit opinion by the Auditor General. We have conducted successful meetings together with the religious leaders over the past years and I again take this opportunity to invite all of them to join the department in celebrating these remarkable achievements and also discuss our future collaborations.”
