The Provincial Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (SACR), MEC Ntombizanele Sifuba invites the members of the media to the launch of the 2026 national Freedom Month programme at the War Museum of the Boer Republics in Bloemfontein.
This years’ national launch will take place on Wednesday, 01 April 2026, in partnership with the National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture under the theme, “Freedom and the Rule of Law: Thirty Years of Democratic Citizenship”.
Aligned with the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, this years’ theme also reflects on South Africa’s democratic journey, and the central role of the rule of law in safeguarding freedom.
Joined by other provincial leadership and delegates, MEC Sifuba will unpack this years’ theme and outline the overall freedom month calendar of activities.
The Launch will unfold as follows:
