MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko joins Lebone College as it receives accreditation certificate from American Heart Association, 29 Feb

Lebone College gets accreditation to offer American Heart Association Courses

The Gauteng Department of Health’s (GDoH) Lebone College of Emergency Care is now accredited to offer Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses.

This comes after the college acquired accreditation through the American Heart Association (AHA), enabling the institution to provide training and accreditation to other health facilities around Gauteng as an accredited training centre. This is a huge milestone for the GDoH as only a few institutions have obtained this kind of accreditation in the country. It is also a critical step towards the readiness for the roll out of the National Health Insurance.

MEC for Health and Wellness, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko will join the college as it receives the accreditation certificate from the AHA to offer a programme that has proven to increase the chances of survival for cardiac arrest victims, and equip and improve health workers’ confidence and quality of care offered to patients.

Members of the media are invited to accreditation ceremony as follows:
Date:    Thursday, 29 February 2023 Time:    13h00
Venue:    Lebone College of Emergency care, 43 Steve Biko Road, Pretoria
