Municipalities to submit Annual Financial statements
In terms of Section 122 (1) of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), municipalities and municipal entities must for each financial year prepare Annual Financial Statements. These submissions must fairly present the state of affairs of the municipality or entity, the performance against budget, management of revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, business activities, financial results, and their financial position as at the end of the financial year.
The Provincial Treasury has offered immense support to municipalities in a bid to improve audit outcomes, developed and implemented initiatives that will ensure a positive shift in municipal performance.
Expected to attend the handover include Executive Mayors and Mayors, MEC for Finance Ms Motlalepula Rosho, MMCs for Finance, HoD for Finance, Municipal Managers, representatives from Auditor General (AGSA) and Chief Financial Officers from Municipalities.
