MEC Mhaule to monitor the writing of the Annual National Assessment

The MEC for Education, Mrs Reginah Mhaule will on 16 to 17 September 2014 monitor the writing of the Annual National Assessment at Emalahleni Local Municipality and Steve Tshwete Local Municipality respectively.

On Tuesday, 16 September 2014; the MEC will visit Laerskool Reynorif from 7h00 to 9h00 at Emalahleni Local Municipality.

Laerskool Reynorif is a parallel medium school established in 1986; it has 850 learners with 24 educators and is situated in Tasbetpark at Emalahleni Local Municipality.

The MEC will thereafter address stakeholders consisting of teachers, principals and School Governing Body representatives at HTS Middelburg at 14h00 in the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality as part of the Provincial Outreach Programme.

It is expected that there will be 1200 delegates in attendance at this meeting.

On Wednesday, 17 September 2014; the MEC will visit Zikhuphule Primary School from 07H00 to 08H30 at Steve Tshwete Municipality. Zikhuphule Primary School has 1538 learners, 38 educators and it is situated at Mhluzi Township.

Annual National Assessment (ANA)

A total number of 622 922 learners from Grade one to six and nine in the Mpumalanga province will from 16 to 19 September 2014 write the Annual National Assessment (ANA).

The department has already ensured that all systems are in place for the smooth writing of this Assessment.

The department request communities to create an enabling environment for learners to write this important Assessment.
