The MEC for Human Settlements, Safety and Liaison, Hellen Sauls-August will meet with the stakeholders in the FLISP programme to fast track and roll out this programme.
Sauls-August will engage with banks, estate agents and National Housing Finance Corporation (NHFC), which is the department’s implementing agent for FLISP, on the current status of the subsidy programme. Other stakeholders that will participate in the session include, Business Associations and SA Council of Churches.
The rollout of Financed Linked Individual Subsidy Programme (FLISP) depends on the full participation of all South African accredited banks, estate agents and property developers.The gap market identified for FLIP subsidy can buy existing, new or old, residential property through banks and estate agents.
The programme was launched in Port Elizabeth on 09 May 2013 in Walmer Link. A total of 500 beneficiaries will be processed through this program for 2013/2014 financial year.
