MEC Mbombo to attend the South African Book Fair and address the Provincial Women and Girls June 16 celebrations

On Sunday, 15 June 2014, MEC of Cultural Affairs and Sports, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo, will attend and participate in the South African Book Fair.

The two key components of the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS); the Library Service and the Language Service will be facilitating a storytelling session where the MEC will be reading to primary school learners in the different languages.

The South African Book Fair, previously known as the Cape Town Book Fair, will return to the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 13 to 15 June 2014. The event has established itself as the premier book and publishing exhibition in sub-Saharan Africa.

On Monday, 16 June 2014, the MEC will be delivering the key note address at the Provincial Women and Girls June 16 Celebrations hosted by the Department’s partners; Disability Sport Western Cape and the Provincial Women and Girls Sports Committee.

DCAS values its partnerships with entities like these because they work at ensuring that the differently abled, women and girls are afforded adequate access to sporting opportunities.

The MEC will also be participating in the various games that will be on offer on the day.
