The MEC for Transport, Roads and Public Works, Thandiswa Marawu will address the memorial service of eight road accident victims at Mtwakazi Administrative Area in Whittlesea on 16 May 2013 at 10h00.
The horrific accident occurred when a bus collided on the rear of a truck between Sada Industrial Area and Whittlesea on Friday, 10 May 2013. Four people died on the spot while the other four died in hospital.
The eight deceased have been identified as follow by the family members:
1. Nozukile Jack - 51 years
2. Sandiswa Zoya - 34 years
3. Victoria Timla - 61 years
4. Liyakha Nyoka - two years
5. Aluve Gcaza - four years
6. Mirriam Mxalisa - 58 years
7. Nomalungelo Makapela - 68 years
8. Ntombencinci Ncapayi - 58 years
Various stakeholders such as Hewu Taxi Association, Uncedo Taxi Association, Social Development, Chris Hani District Municipality, Lukhanji Local Municipality, Department of Transport and Road Accident Fund will also grace the occasion.
