EC Education holds Broad Stakeholder's Consultative workshop

The Eastern Cape Department of Education MEC, Mandla Makupula will tomorrow the 7th of October 2014 open the broad stakeholder consultative workshop with all education stakeholders in Empekweni Resort, outside Port Alfred at 9h30.

The goal of the two –day-workshop is to propose a division of labour between entities, with the aim of improving system-wide coherence. Additionally, the department seeks to develop a strategy to improve synergy and co-ordination of the Education sector stakeholders with a view to discuss, define roles of various structures in the process.

The proposed workshop will also provide the opportunity to gather a wide range of role-players in education to reaffirm the vision and purpose of education in the Eastern Cape.

Since the department is charged with supporting children to read, write and count, all stakeholders will therefore be provided with the opportunity to impact and enrich this goal. This means that educational constituencies, including statutory, official and civic entities, will be afforded an prospect to work collaboratively to achieve a desired state in education.
