MEC Mandla Makupula hands over Nolusapho Primary School in Mahlubini Village, 11 Sept

Eastern Cape Education MEC Mandla Makupula will tomorrow, Friday 11 September 2015 continue to deliver sustainable change to rural education with the official handover of Nolusapho Primary School in Mahlubini Village, Eastern Cape. This is one of the schools built under the Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Delivery Initiative (ASIDI) programme of the Department of Basic Education.

Built at a cost in excess of R 9 million, Nolusapho Primary School forms part of the R8.2 billion ASIDI programme whose mandate is to eradicate schools built from inappropriate material. It is also ensures that every school built has the necessary provision of the basic services which includes water, sanitation and electricity to those schools that never had any before.

ASIDI schools are helping to restore dignity and pride of our people and the new state of the art facility at Nolusapho will provide an enabling environment that encourages optimum learning and teaching.
