MEC for the Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Mme Makoma Makhurupetje, together with the General Manager of Working on Fire Limpopo, (WoF), Mr Sam Maepa, will be commemorating the International Fire Fighters Day and also launch the Provincial Fire Season Campaign next week. The campaign aims to commemorate the fire fighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty and to acknowledge those who sacrificially continue to protect our environments.
Fire-fighters for WoF, joined by the Municipal fire fighters and SAPS will march across the Polokwane City to create a vibe and to mobilise people to the event venue. The march will start at SABC Park, up Excelsior Street then right into Hans van Rensburg with the sirens of the fire response vehicles on. They will be joined by the SAPS band at the Premier’s Office where they will continue with the march. The fire fighters will then turn right into Rabe, into Voortrekker Streets and across Suid Street into the Polokwane Cricket Club where the official event will take place.
