MEC Madoda Sambatha hands over forensic pathology vehicles to North West districts, 10 Sept

Forensic pathology to be strengthened with new vehicles

The North West Health MEC Madoda Sambatha will officially handover forensic pathology vehicles to the Districts of the Province as part of capacitating the forensic pathology services in the Province.

The handover of nine forensic bakkies comes at a time when there is dire shortage of forensic vehicles. They will immediately be dispatched for service.

Forensic pathology focuses on determining the cause of death by examining a corpse. A post mortem is performed by a medical examiner, and these vehicle are needed for quick response to the scene. In the current COVID-19 dispensation, forensic pathology is even more necessary to determine the cause of death.

The handover activity which will comply with COVID-19 regulations will be held as follows:

Date: Thursday, 10 September 2020
