MEC Madoda Sambatha and the Smile Foundation to put smiles on young faces
The North West Department of Health MEC Madoda Sambatha together with the Smile Foundation will be at the Klerksdorp/Tshepong Hospital Complex in Matlosana Local Municipality as the province undertakes another round of surgeries intended to bring smiles to eleven children born with facial deformities.
The reconstructive surgeries will be conducted on 17 – 21 April 2003, a week set aside for the “Smile Campaign” where children with birth defects will receive cleft correction medical surgery.
This campaign will see 11 children receiving this reconstructive surgery at the Klerksdorp / Tshepong hospital on the said period.
The media will be afforded a tour of the surgery as well as a demonstration of the procedure. Members of the media are invited to a briefing on the campaign to be held as follows:
