Gauteng Department of Human Settlement MEC Jacob Mamabolo will host the National Youth Service Programme graduation ceremony at Midvaal Local Municipality.
The MEC will be hosting more than 90 graduates of the programme and on the same day launch the National Youth Brigade Programme where more than 100 students will be absorbed.
These learners have been exposed to construction sector skills training that include bricklaying and plumbing, which was followed by on-site training. They have also undergone mental toughness and life skills training and were supported by the onsite contractor.
The Department partnered with various stakeholders such as National Department of Human Settlements, National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC), National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and Basil Reed to empower these students.
