MEC Jacob Mamabolo embarks on Save Water Campaign, 26 Nov

Taking Save Water to the communities and strengthening the water campaign

Following the successful provincial launch of #SaveWater campaign last week to educate communities about water preservation, COGTA and Human Settlements MEC Jacob Mamabolo will tomorrow go on community blitz to encourage wise water use in Emfuleni. The MEC will be joined by Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality Cllr Mahole Mofokeng and the Executive Mayor of Sedibeng District Municipality Cllr Busi Modisakeng.

This blitz is part of the six-pillar mass communication campaign on saving water.

Government is on an aggressive drive to ensure that communities change the way they use this scarce and precious resource particularly in the face of poor rains, very hot conditions and drought.

The media are invited to converge at the Sedibeng District Municipal offices at 11h30, and then the entourage will drive to areas with leakages and high water consumption where the blitz will take place. At around 14h00 the entourage will drive to the Rand Water’s Suikerbos Water Purification station to inspect the site.

The event will take place as follows:

Date: Thursday, 26 November 2015
Time: 11h30
Venue: Sedibeng District Municipality, Vereeniging
