Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Dr Ismail Vadi will on Thursday, 12 June 2014, officially launch the R55 (P39-1) / Quagga Road rehabilitation project in Ladium.
The R40 million project will include the rehabilitation of the road P39/1 from the Iscor Bridge to the K71 intersection in Ladium.
The P39/1 road is an alternative north-south carriageway between Pretoria industrial and greater Johannesburg, to the N14/N1 freeway which carries very heavy and high volumes of traffic.
Through the project, the department also aims to empower local communities by training and offering them practical experience while employed on the project.
Small medium and micro enterprise’s including Military veterans will also benefit extensively with 40% work from the project.
