MEC Vadi to launch multi-million road project in Tshwane
Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Ismail Vadi will on Wednesday, 14 February 2018, officially launch Tsamaya Road (K54 Road) rehabilitation project between the Old Bronkhorstspruit and Solomon Mahlangu Roads in Mamelodi, Tshwane.
The R400 million project - wholly funded by the provincial government – includes the construction of northbound dual carriageway, two bridges over the railway line, cycle paths, pedestrian facilities as well as taxi laybys amongst others.
Upon completion, the road will serve as an important link between Mamelodi and the N4, whilst also serving as an alternative to the Moloto Road thus stimulating the socio-economic growth in the Mamelodi area through the provision of a modern integrated public transport system.
The department’s commitment to providing training, skills development and empowering BBBEE contractors will see the main contractor sub-contracting a percentage of the work to local SMMEs.
