Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Ismail Vadi will on Tuesday, 18 September 2018, launch ‘She Conquers Campaign’ by hosting 100 girl learners from various schools in the Mamelodi District, Tshwane.
The campaign – to be launched in partnership with Departments of Health, Social Development, and Education - follows MEC’s visit to schools in Mamelodi last year.
The girl learners appealed for MEC’s intervention in dealing with some of the challenges they faced. These included gender-based violence, teenage pregnancy, child abuse, substance abuse, HIV and AIDS as well as high rate of school dropouts.
Held under the theme “Still I rise”, the multi-sectoral approach provides the much-needed platform for government officials and learners to engage, share ideas and come up with practical interventions to deal with challenges.
The details of the event are as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 18 September 2018
Time: 9h30
Venue: Arcadia Hotel, 515 Johannes Ramokhoase Street, Arcadia, Tshwane
