The Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters together with Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport Ismail Vadi will on Monday, 5 October 2015, conduct a site tour of the new Gauteng Rail Nerve Centre (GNC) in Kaalfontein, Tembisa.
The newly constructed centre will act as the signalling control centre for Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) and will enable operators to monitor all passenger train activities in Gauteng.
The introduction of the latest technology incorporates but not limited to resignaling of sub-projects, Centralised Operational Control Centre with Automatic Train Routing and Tracking, Event Logging and SPAD Detection and Notification system.
